Writing Motivation

I just don’t know what to do anymore. The writing bug has left the building and flew far, far away. It’s Sunday night and I have done no writing over the weekend. I think I’m just going to have to make some short-term goals on both writing and exercising and just do my best to meet them.

It was a wonderful weekend. We had breakfast with friends, my sister came to stay, I got a new blackberry and purse. So I guess I can’t complain, I just know I need to do more with my writing in order to get this first book done. I have so many ideas on other books, I need to get going. I think maybe I’m getting ahead of myself.
Anyone else have issues motivating yourself on things you know you have to do? What do you do to motivate yourself?

  1. It IS okay to take breaks now and then. This entire past week was a break for me. If you’re not feeling your wip, try reading some good books to get your juices flowing, or writing a flash fiction piece (under 1000 words). Maybe just getting words out will help.

Thanks- as always- for the encouragement. Maybe I’ll try reading a book or something, that’s a great idea!!

I’ve never tried flash fiction. That may work too. Thanks again Mel 🙂
