Guitar Hero is Awesome

I know I’m about 3 years behind with this, but I love Guitar Hero!! I played it last weekend while at a friends house and just fell in love with it all over again. I had since stopped playing.

Sadly, it has gotten in the way with my writing, in fact, everything has lately…
If I find a quiz or game on facebook, I can play it for hours. Seriously, I know you all want to know what my top 5 celebrity crushes are, oh and my score on farkle, and who I killed in Mafia Wars, but, I haven’t written in days.

And don’t get me started on twitter. Love it! Can’t get enough.

I think I just need to re-set my focus and hunker down.

So what keeps you from writing, or any hobby you love?

Weekends Shmweekends

Yeah. Try saying that title outloud;)

Well, I’ve been trying to eat better, and I’ve been logging my food into sparkpeople.com (great website). It’s amazing what I’ve learned about what I’ve been putting in my mouth… okay. No comments on that- get your minds out of the gutter *wink*
Lessons I’ve learned so far…
Lesson 1-Culver’s burgers are very bad for you
Lesson 2- You are going to eat worse when you travel
Lesson 3- I need to drink more water- a lot more
I learned other stuff too, but those are the majors.
On to some stuff about writing —->
I’m going to try and do some writing this weekend. I’ve now read about 5 books on writing. Out of the five- the 2 that helped me the most are:
1- WRITING THE BREAKOUT NOVEL , by Donald Maass
Can’t say enough about this book. It is a must read for writers in my opinion
2- DON’T MURDER YOUR MYSTERY, by Chris Roerden
Very good for all genres but especially helped me with some mystery elements
I have to give an honorable mention to, CHARACTERS & VIEWPOINT, by Orson Scott Card
I do have to say that after a while some books started saying the same stuff, so I have stopped reading them for now, but I am confident I will return to these and others while writing.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. If your reading this on Monday, then I’m sorry. I hate Mondays!!!
Er

A blog sans the word Sans. Possible? I think so…

Lately it seems that everyone is on the sans bandwagon. Um what?

sans (snz, s?)
prep.
Without– source- thefreedictionary.com

When did this happen. It was like some celebrity woke up one day and decided to start using another word for without. Is without really that bad of a word? Truthfully- I don’t really mind the word. As a writer, I’m all for new words. I just wonder why I didn’t learn it at all in school or hear it before this year. Is it because I’m in the midwest? Do I not read enough?

The word sans keeps popping up everywhere from Twitter to my US mag. Is it possible to live sans the word sans?

I think so.

"Number Five is Alive…" Again.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117983475.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

Ok. I get it. The eighties had movies that were re-makeable. At least that is how it seems. Short Circuit is the next on the list to be re-made. (yes you heard right) Come on you knew it was coming.

How can they possibly screw this one up.. *laughs*

“Number Five is alive.” Translated into new movie version… Number Five cranes his mechanical finger and points at a small, red button on his side. “I’ll blow up this whole country if you touch this button.”

Let’s see, can we predict what’s next? Let’s see Footloose is taken, Transformers x2, Karate Kid, Heathers is getting a sequel, Red Dawn, and of course Weird Science.

When will it stop? Will it ever? At this rate they will be re-making those sh*tty Look Who’s Talking Movies… Oh please No! Okay, the first one was passable.

Just my 2 cents. Great. Now I want to watch Better Off Dead. (Good Movie)

Enjoy your weekend!

Bill Gates is a great guy

Gates was quoted saying, “I think all billionaires should give away the vast majority of their fortune,” the Microsoft co-founder, who has given away a large part of his 40-billion-dollar fortune to fight poverty and disease, said at a public debate.

“I’m not saying they shouldn’t leave anything for their kids or to have a little bit for themselves but yes, I think they would enjoy it, I think their kids would be better off, and I think the world would be better off.
Warren Buffett folowed …

Fellow American Warren Buffet, the world’s second richest man with a fortune estimated at 37 billion dollars, had announced in 2006 that he would leave a part of his wealth to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

I think all billionaires/millionaires should heed Bill’s advice. It gets repeated over and over in countless newscasts, articles and conversations, but I don’t understand how people can buy numerous useless items, cars and houses and not contribute a significant postion of what they have to someone less fortunate or even a group that needs help.

If I ever become a legitimate millionaire/billionaire, I vow to donate, donate and donate some more.

Now I just have to become a millionaire or billionaire… anyone have any ideas?? LOL

I love Mac’s!
